U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Champion Wins With Tiger Shark SJ-67 Jumbo Grip

 

The winner of the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship won with the help of a jumbo sized Tiger Shark SJ-67 putter grip. The Mid-Am champion made history last week at the Wichita Country Club in Kansas by winning the tournament for the third time. She is the third player to accomplish that feat in the tournament's 24-year-old history.

"The win today ranks up there with all the other wins," said the winner. "It's been an incredible journey."

The winner recorded six birdies through the first 11 holes. She consistently sank high pressure putts with the help of her jumbo putter grip designed to keep her wrists from breaking down during the putting stroke.

."She made five or six 10-footers in the first six holes and just when I thought I had a chance - boom! - there's another one at the bottom," said the Mid-Am runner up.

The winner said she was "seeing the line" all day. She made a 12-foot birdie putt on the par-5 fourth hole to go 1 up and won the next hole when she drained an 8-foot birdie putt. She took No. 7 by nailing a 6-foot birdie putt to go 3 up. She then won the par-3 11th hole with an 8-foot birdie putt, helping her to go 2 up with three holes to play.

The SJ-67 is the lightest of any oversized putter grip on the market. At an amazing overall weight of 67 grams, the SJ-67 weighs the same as a standard sized grip at 250% the size. The larger putter grip reduces grip pressure, helps keep the putter head square and promotes a pendulum stroke.
