K.J. Choi Wins The Players Championship with SuperStroke Putter Grip
May 16, 2011
K.J. Choi won The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, his 8th career PGA Tour victory. This marks Choi’s 4th straight top 10 and 2nd straight top 3 finish.
Considered by many as “the fifth major” on Tour, The Players Championship was K.J.’s biggest win to date. He finished the week 1st in One-Putts Per Round and T6 in Putts Per Round using his SuperStroke Fatso putter grip, the #1 jumbo putter grip on tour. The Fatso, measuring 1.67” in diameter, allowed K.J. to take his wrists out of the stroke and keep the face square at impact.
"For me to shoot under par every day on this course this week, it's like a miracle, to be honest with you," Choi said. "For some reason I felt very comfortable out there."
With this win, Choi moved up to 6th in the FedEx Cup points race and 15th in the Official World Golf Ranking. His $1.7 million for winning also moved him up to 3rd on the money list, earning just over $2.9 million for the year.
Along with Choi, SuperStroke also added another top 25 finish for the week. The count is now up to 89 players that have trusted SuperStroke grip technology worldwide.
