Jim Flood, a man who has been called the Thomas Edison of modern golf, has developed over 50 golf-related products in the past 35 years that have revolutionized the game of golf forever.
In 1972, Jim developed and introduced the first graphite golf shaft and founded Aldila Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of graphite shafts. In 1990, he founded Odyssey, the world's #1 putter company, which was later sold to Callaway Golf. Jim is recognized throughout the world as one of the most creative and innovative thinkers in golf, and the proof lies in the pudding.
Mr. Flood invented the slice proof Power Pod Driver, the outside-the-box and wildly effective Basakwerd putter, and the tour popular Slinger Irons. Flood also developed the Ernie Els Training System, and created a technology for Major League Baseball to help baseball bats from splintering using strips of tape made from a composite of graphite and Kevlar.
Jim was hired by Tiger Shark in 2008 to bring his unique talents and vision to the Tiger Shark product line. As a key figure of our Research and Development team, Jim will be introducing innovations that utilize the foresight and creativity that has made him one of the most influential golf inventors to ever live.
